read in full and answered within forty-eight hours. There is one route
of approach — a formal intake of five short chapters — and it lives just
opposite.
- Length — five chapters, ten or so minutes
- Privacy — answers are kept in confidence
- Reply — within forty-eight hours, by post
- Resume — your progress is held between visits
Etiquette of the petition
Begin with a clear sentence about who you are and why you write. Decline to
attach photographs unless asked. State your hard limits openly. A first-time
visitor is met with the same care as a long-devoted one — only the cadence
differs.
